Drugstore makeup brand e.l.f Cosmetics is known for its lower prices, but, per recent news, their price tag is about to move up a bit starting Monday.
On Instagram last week, the brand announced that some of its prices are being raised by $1, while others are staying the same. Per the post, these increases ahead are due to rising costs across the industry from freight, raw materials and shipping. "We remain committed to transparency and making the best of beauty accessible at mic drop prices. Always clean, vegan and cruelty-free."
Some of the products that are staying at the same price are what the brand calls "OG value items." Included on its list: Lip Lacquer ($3), Bite-Size Eye Shadow ($3) and Instant Lift Brow Pencil ($3).
In the comments section of the post, fans express their gratitude towards the brand's transparency. "Wow! Really love this transparency and honesty," writes professional makeup artist Angel Merino. "I wish people really knew how much the beauty industry is changing and how impacted the supply chains and pretty much everything has been due to Covid. Will always support you guys!!" Another says, "Thank you for being honest and upfront with your customers. I think we all realize inflation is real and companies have to adjust prices for everything accordingly. $1 price raise isn't the worst and I'll always continue to buy from your brand!"
