Between gearing up for season two of Fuller House and co-hosting The View, 40-year-old Candace Cameron Bure has a beyond busy schedule. And now the mom of three is adding one more role to her resume: Advocate for recycling, teaming up with Unilever to bring attention to way bottle—namely, our beauty bottles—are recycled in the U.S. The scary stat: 56 percent of Americans recycle their kitchen items, yet only 14 percent do the same for the bottles in their bathroom.
On her “A-ha” moment to get involved with the campaign:
“It’s funny because I didn’t even think about recycling in the bathroom before Unilever approached me. When I first heard the stat that only 14 percent of Americans recycle their bathroom products, my mind was blown. But it makes so much sense and it’s such a small easy step you can take in order to help the environment.”
On the importance of packaging and ingredients in her own beauty routine:
“I get most of my skin products through my dermatologist so I would say I focus more on the ingredients versus the packaging. When I look for products outside of what my dermatologist recommends, I look for products with natural ingredients that are accessible.”
