3 Beauty Trends That Aren't Going Anywhere in 2020

Pinterest doesn't just serve as our ultimate "everything" moodboard—it's also a huge case study in what's hot (and not) right now. The site's trend report, released today, gives us a pulse on what to expect in the beauty scene come the new year. Hint: it's heavy on the nostalgia.
The New Lip Standard
The days of matte or full-coverage lipsticks are behind us. With searches up 144 percent for both lip gloss and liner, our favorite '90s duo is back and here to stay. In the market for a new-and-improved gloss? Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer ($18) is available in two universal shades for the perfect your-lips-but-better sheen, and if you're looking for your favorite color in a gloss, Tom Ford Gloss Luxe Lip Gloss ($55) delivers high shine and color payoff in a chic gold tube.
All About Hair
Jewelry isn't just for our bodies anymore. Hair accessories have made quite the name for themselves this year—some of our favorite hair stylists have even come out with their own lines—and will continue to be a big part of the new year with searches up 930 percent and rising.
Personal favorites include Kitsch Rhinestone Snap Clip Duo Set ($24), aka the easiest way to make second-day hair look like a first priority, and the sweet R+Co Ashley Streicher Pearl Hair Pins ($50), the best additions to any holiday outfit.
One accessory, though, has outshone all the others: scrunchies. With searches for the retro hair-tie up a whopping 6,309 percent, it's clear this one's not just a fleeting fad. Options to add to cart: slip for beauty sleep Midi Scrunchie Set ($45 for 5) which won't crease your hair while you snooze, and the stunning MLE Paradise Colorblock Silk Scrunchie ($42) that's enough to make a statement on its own.
