Ask any skin-care expert in the biz for the biggest mistake you can make when caring for your skin and you’ll probably get the same answer: sleeping with your makeup on. Now, we’ve all been guilty of this in the past, but for some reason it’s always surprising when a celebrity announces that they fall victim to this beauty no-no as well. The latest famous face to come clean? Kim Kardashian West.

In Sunday night’s episode of Busy Tonight, Kardashian West told Busy Philipps that it’s actually pretty common for her to fall asleep with makeup on, People reports. “Have you ever slept with your makeup on?” Philipps asked Kardashian West in the episode. “Oh, all the time,” Kardashian West responds. “Like even if I can’t have glam the next day, I’ll sleep perfectly and maybe I’ll redo my skin, but I try to salvage it for two days.”

While falling asleep in your makeup every so often won’t wreak complete havoc on your skin, doing it frequently can definitely have some negative consequences. By leaving makeup residue and debris on your skin at night, pores become clogged and eventually develop breakouts. So, the next time you’re too exhausted to do a full cleanse before bed, just remember that your skin will suffer if you don’t. At the very least, wipe off that foundation with a cleansing wipe like the Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleansing Cloths ($10)—you’ll be happy you did.
