After a fall in November left Carrie Underwood with 40 stitches in her face, fans speculated whether or not the country music star would ever look the same. Months went by, and when Underwood finally did reveal herself post-accident, she looked absolutely stunning, leading to various rumors claiming that she got plastic surgery to fix the damage. Well, after an obscene about of assumptions, the singer finally set the record straight.

In an interview with Redbook, Underwood was asked about the fall and whether or not the rumors about plastic surgery bothered her. “I’m on some magazine every other week for something crazy,” she replied. “It’s a little sad, because the truth is just as interesting. I wish I’d gotten some awesome plastic surgery to make this [scar] look better. But I try not to worry too much about it.”

While Underwood may think her scar is super noticeable, she recognizes that most people aren’t as critical of it as she is. “[The scar] was also a perception thing, because I look at myself [now] and I see it quite a bit, but other people are like, ‘I wouldn’t have even noticed,’” Underwood explained. “Nobody notices as much as you think they will, so that’s been nice to learn.”

If Underwood’s latest selfies are any indication, she certainly healed wonderfully after her fall, and her positive attitude about the whole experience is just the icing on the cake.
