There’s been a lot of news swirling around recently about the potential not-so-good “stuff” that may be sneaking into your supplements. And, now, it seems one vitamin company is getting hit rather hard with something that goes beyond mere speculation.

On Tuesday, Pharmavite, LLC, recalled some of its NatureMade gummie adult vitamins and folic acid supplements. The reason: There’s a possible salmonella or staph contamination. Pharmavite issued the voluntary recall out of an “abundance of caution to protect public health”—the recall was initiated after it was discovered that salmonella and/or Staphylococcus aureus testing were not completed properly on these specific batch lots. Pharmavite has said they’ve since identified the cause of the error.
