It goes on clear, disappears into your skin, and you can use it anywhere—even on an airplane as the name implies. This multitasking mask is deeply hydrating, skin blurring and also doubles as a primer and intense moisturizer. Oh, and it really delivers on its dewy skin promise.

It’s not really a mask in the traditional sense, but the super popular Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask ($48), created by influencers Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores, really does what it says it does. Although I’m a little late to the party—the mask came out in March and sold out at Sephora immediately—I still wanted to see what all of the hype was about. I couldn’t scroll through my Instagram feed without seeing the light blue tube showing up in every skin care obsessed user’s (including celebs like Kim Kardashian West and Jessica Alba) essentials posts. So, I had to try it and find out if it really gives you glowy skin after just one use.
It only took one try before I had my answer, and it almost pains me to write that because it sounds so cliché, but sometimes skin care products really do exactly what they say they do on the first try. After cleansing my skin, I slathered a generous amount—I tried a light layer at first, but felt I needed more—and kept it on for 10 minutes. I could feel a little tingle at first, probably from the peppermint, corn mint and orange oils. Because it doesn't need to be washed off (this makes it perfect for traveling), you can either wipe it off with a damp wash cloth or leave it on all day to quench your thirsty skin.
When my 10 minutes were up, my face had that dewy glow everyone on social media has been bragging about. Perhaps it was the chestnut extract that is known to soothe puffy, red, irritated skin. Or maybe the combination of ceramides and antioxidants that was responsible for the blurring type effect that gave me an instantly brighter complexion. Not only is it super-hydrating, but it also made my skin look super healthy, illuminated and rested.
Afterward I started using it as a primer and an overnight mask, and within a week I had put away my usual face oils, toner, moisturizers and sheet masks. Final verdict: While $48 may seem a little pricey for a mask, I forsee myself using every last bit of cream from this magic powder blue tube, so it's totally worth the Insta-hype.
