At NewBeauty, we live and breathe skin care—it’s an essential part of our DNA. But, not just the products you can use at home. We’re talking skin care: the magical hands of an aesthetician that give tired, aging and acne-plagued complexions the TLC they need to really shine. Here, we list our favorite aestheticians to follow on Instagram—the pros we keep on speed dial—for expert insight and advice on skin care, products and everything in between.

Nerida Joy

One of the OG celebrity aestheticians our editors have been turning to for beauty advice for more than a decade, Nerida Joy has performed more than 100,000 facials in her 44 years in the industry. Based in LA (she has a boutique skin-care clinic there), she’s the go-to aesthetician for A-listers like Jennifer Garner and Jessica Simpson, as well as a longstanding member of our NewBeauty Brain Trust.

She’s also certified in nutrition, Reiki, kinesiology, iridology, Australian bush essences, color therapy and therapeutic massage, making her one of the most well-rounded esties we know. You’ll love her Australian accent too!

Shani Darden

Jessica Alba’s aesthetician and founder of her eponymous skin-care brand (her Lactic Acid Serum won our 2022 NewBeauty Award), Shani Darden is known as one of Hollywood’s most sought-after skin experts (her flagship studio in Beverly Hills is gorgeous). She speaks about skin care in a straightforward way that makes her relatable to her thousands of followers, and is also a member of our NewBeauty Brain Trust.

Having trained under a dermatologist, she has an extra layer of skin-care knowledge (acne is one of her specialties) that we really appreciate.

Iván Pol

Another member of our NewBeauty Brain Trust, Iván Pol is the man behind “The Beauty Sandwich” (his IG handle), which you’ve probably heard of or already follow if you’re a skin-care obsessive like we are. It’s also the name of his signature collagen-boosting treatment that involves a mix of different radio-frequency devices, depending on what the client’s skin needs.

Some of the world’s most popular faces rely on his modern facials for a contouring effect, including Cara Delevingne, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Chiara Ferragni, and you can find him in either the Pacific Palisades or Manhattan (when he’s not jet-setting somewhere more fabulous).

Amy Peterson

From dermaplaning to cryo and everything in between, Amy Peterson’s Miami Beach clinic offers the full range of services to achieve beautiful, glowing skin from head to toe. She posts dozens of in-office procedural videos so her followers will know exactly what to expect when they go in for a treatment, and her product knowledge is through the roof (she has her own line called Skin Savant too).

As one of our newer members of our NewBeauty Brain Trust, we are soaking up Amy’s skin-care prowess left and right.

Nayamka Roberts-Smith

You may have seen her #60SecondRule post that went viral in 2019: Nayamka Roberts-Smith encouraged her followers to wash their face both morning and night with their fingers for a full 60 seconds to reap the benefits of smoother, clearer, brighter skin. Owner of The Golden Rx Skin Studio in LA, the aesthetician dishes on sunscreen rules for skin of color, slugging and how to cleanse your skin without dripping down your arms using her own No Drip Cleansing Cuffs.

Charlotte Palermino

One of our favorite modern voices on Instagram (and TikTok) right now is Charlotte Palermino, aesthetician and CEO/cofounder of Dieux Skin. She’s witty, tells it like it is and super intelligent on the full gamut of skin-care topics and ingredients, from CBD to sustainability. Follow her for insight on cutting-edge and controversial trends, as well as product recommendations from around the globe (Charlotte is half French, so many are her French pharmacy staples).

Joanna Czech

Watching Joanna Czech’s hands move at lightning speed during a facial is a treat in itself: her rapid de-puffing techniques can bring a droopy cheek back to perky position in minutes. The list of her celeb clientele is miles long, including Jennifer Aniston, Martha Stewart, Kourtney Kardashian, Haley and Justin Bieber, and Sydney Sweeney, and the waitlist to see the skin guru is more than six-months long.

On social, she gives love to a variety of skin-care brands, though she also has her own (it launched in the fall of 2021), and we love when she takes us through her personal regimen in a series of posts. She’s also an incredible member of our NewBeauty Brain Trust!
