Tonight, in a very special broadcast, Scarlett Johansson is set to join the ranks of Katy Perry, Martha Stewart, and Lisa Rinna as she brings her acclaimed skin-care brand, The Outset, to the QVC stage. Known for their commitment to gentle yet effective skin-care, she and co-founder Kate Foster are poised to connect with the discerning QVC audience during the “Girls Night In with Courtney and Jane” segment.

“I’ve been hoping that we could make it to QVC from the very beginning,” Johansson tells us on her way to the studio. “It was a goal of mine that, right from the start, I shared with Kate. I feel we would connect so well with the QVC audience. Tonight, we’ll be featured on a segment where we’re presenting— this is a discerning customer; she knows.”

When it comes to reaching cult status with discerning consumers, Scarlett Johansson feels fortunate to have gained recognition for their formulas rather than their founders. “In the challenging landscape of a crowded market, we knew there would be some skepticism around having a celebrity founder, but our unwavering belief in the products and our goals of prioritizing quality allowed us to ‘get over that hump’ as Kate has said. Witnessing the impact of The Outset on the skin of my family and friends, along with accolades like winning Best of Beauty Awards and recognition as a standout new brand, it really validates everything. The genuine feedback from our customers is the ultimate testament, making some of those hurdles of startup life worthwhile.”

Formulas for Everyone

We love seeing the brand grow and are a bit partial to her husband Colin Jost’s reels on The Outset’s Instagram feed. “It really shows how versatile it is,” we say, and she responds with a knowing laugh—of course we’re going to ask about the husband. “It’s a line made for everyone with skin, especially suitable for sensitive skin. We wanted a clean, effective brand that can be used by as many people as possible, making it gender-neutral. The fragrance-free formulations make it appealing to a male consumer who may be more sensitive to fragrances. I just want to make a line of clean, effective products so I can get rid of everything else on my bathroom counter and my husband and I can have the same product when we go away. Why not?”

Serums and Sets

When it comes to her favorite products, Scarlett Johansson says if she had to pick one, she’d go with the Firming Collagen Prep Serum. “My skin doesn’t perform the same without tyramine; I’ve become completely dependent on that step. It’s crazy, like the healing effect of the serum on a burn. It’s such an amazing product.”

You can nab the Firming Vegan Collagen Prep Serum ($46) from Johansson and Foster tonight on its own or as part of the Ultimate Duo ($75) which also features the Smoothing Vitamin C Eye and Expression Lines Cream to diminish fine lines. The Luxe Moisture Set ($75) will also be available, which pairs the Nourishing Squalane Daily Moisturizer with our favorite, the Ultralight Moisture Boosting Oil ($44).

“I have our three steps in travel size because I may have to stay the night at QVC,” she tells as as we promise to log on and watch QVC history being made.
