Changing up your hair color is one of the easiest ways to update your look. You can step into the salon in the morning and step out a couple hours later looking almost like a completely different person. Don’t believe us? Take a look at Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss who recently went from long, dark chocolate brown hair to a blond pixie. She’s practically unrecognizable.

“This new look is modern, fresh and chic! The cut and the color suit her very well. The cut is perfect for her face shape and really brings her into a strong, dynamic look. She can play with the fringe too, which gives her options for style. She went from ‘normal’ girl next door to having a ‘signature look’ for herself. I would personally love to see this cut with her dark color…which would be very modern and will make her eyes pop. But, you’ve got to love blonde for a change!” says Los Angeles-based celebrity hairstylist Mitch Stone.
“This drastic makeover from rich brunette to cool blonde complements Moss’ fair skin tone. Fair skin tones with pink or blue undertones like hers look best with cool hair colors. The look works for the Mad Men star because the hue doesn’t have gold or bronze tones, which tend to make fair skin seem sallow. The super fine blonde highlights throughout brighten the look without looking too warm,” says Nicholas Penna, Jr., owner & lead stylist of SalonCapri in Newton & Dedham, MA.

“Elisabeth’s light hair just looks flat—the only thing I really see when looking at this is the red lipstick. There is no dimension here,” says Los Angeles-based celebrity stylist George Papanikolas. “I would keep her dark as her eyes really pop and just recommend some balayage highlights.”
