Last night’s People’s Choice Awards was jam packed with A-list celebrities showing up and turning out looks on the red carpet, including some of our favorite reality TV stars. Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian were two such celebrities that graced the PCA red carpet in their best glam attire. But after running onto the stage late—admittedly coming back from fixing her hair—to join her mom in accepting the Reality Show of the Year award for their show The Kardashians, Khloé sparked some criticism from fans who claimed she looked “messy.” Keeping true to her legacy of always being candid with fans, Kardashian opened up on social media jokingly owning up to the fact that she struggled with some fashion and beauty mishaps throughout the night.
After announcing that The Kardashians had won Reality Show of 2022, Kris Jenner came to the stage looking noticeably confused. Moments later, Khloe ran onto the stage—looking somewhat aloof—before taking the mic and apologizing for her sudden entrance. “I’m so sorry, I am out of breath,” she said, “I was trying to fix my hair.” She proceeded to give her hair a quick fluff before thanking the fans for voting. Despite making it known in her speech that she was having some hair-related issues, some viewers still took to social media and criticized the celeb for looking “messy.”
Responding to the backlash in her traditionally humorous way, Kardashian posted on her Instagram story explaining “My outfit —the whole zipper popped open so I’m sewn into my outfit. I had to pee so we had to cut the stitching out and sow me back in. My hair, it is a disaster, but that’s okay, champagne problems, but that’s okay.” In a more specific, follow up story—with her hair noticeably more tame—she stated “I don’t know what happened on stage. My hair was f****d up […] I looked like a freak, but you know, champagne f*****g problems.”
Khloé Kardashian is no stranger to social media criticism, but we can always count on her to address a crisis in her lighthearted and comical way. Believe it or not, bad hair days happen to our favorite celebs too.
