Our fall cover star Julianne Moore shares her beauty essentials. Check out the lucky 13 below. 

HAIR-CARE MUST-HAVES: “I use L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Collection, L’Oréal Paris EverCrème Collection and Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner.”

DETOX DON’T: “I did a juice cleanse for the Golden Globes one year. I think 
I did it for three days. To 
be honest, the only weight
 I lost was in my brain!”

HOLISTIC HELPER: “Acupuncture is great. It’s wonderful for back and hip pain, and I really think it makes your skin look clearer. It sounds old-fashioned but I believe anything that you can do that helps you stand up straighter, makes you look much better. For me, that is acupuncture.”

MIRACLE INGREDIENT: “Alpha hydroxy acids work really well with my skin—but I have
 to stay away from retinoids; they are too powerful for me.”

BEAUTY DISCOVERY: “Face oils! I love them and I switch around what I use: L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Facial Oil, L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Golden Serum, Sunday Riley face oil and Rodin face oil.”

WORKOUT PICK: “I don’t like noisy workouts. I tried spinning and didn’t like it, it’s just too loud for me. I do better when I am working out in quiet, which is why I like yoga. I also work out at my house, do interval running and lift light weights.”

MIND-BODY CONNECTION: “I like yoga and I especially like classes that don’t have mirrors. It’s a time to let go and let your body drop into itself. I love Shala in New York.”

HYDRATION SECRET: “Everyone says it, but I drink a lot of water. I also can really tell the next day when I eat too much sodium so I try to avoid it.”

SKIN-CARE ROUTINE: “I’m really into exfoliation. I’ve always used very buff washcloths to cleanse my face at night.”

BEAUTY ICONS: “French actresses. In particular, Charlotte Gainsbourg.”

FACIAL FIX: “I tend to do my own thing when it comes to my skin but I do go to Joanna Vargas in New York when I need a good facial. I’m not very good at going regularly though; I have a bad habit of buying a package and they actually have to call me to remind me to use them!”

UNUSUAL TRICK: “My big thing is that I will rotate coffee and green tea throughout the year and I think that helps my skin. I’ll drink coffee for six months, then switch to green tea for six months.”

MORNING KICK-START: “I drink a tablespoon of chlorophyll in my water in the morning. I’m still not totally sure what it is or what it does but I think it is working for me.”
