Giving birth is a beautiful thing, but the post-baby effects to your body may be a less-than-welcome addition to your family. To get you back to your pre-pregnancy shape—or even better—some plastic surgeons have combined specific treatments to create what’s commonly called a “mommy makeover.” The makeover typically includes a breast lift or augmentation, some variation of tummy tuck, liposuction, spider or varicose vein treatments and possibly even laser or topical treatments to deal with pigmentation changes in your skin.
The recovery can be lengthy, and you should wait to have a mommy makeover until you are finished having children. Keep in mind the results can be dramatic, as you are undoing the changes that occurred during pregnancy that can’t be improved with diet and exercise.

While pregnancy may only last nine months, the stretch marks you acquire during in that time will remain long after. There are tons of products out there that may help reduce their appearance, but the efficacy of these formulas varies. Other options to lighten stretch marks include light-based laser treatments like Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), which can reduce some of the redness in the skin. Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) and fractional laser resurfacing are additional options but most doctors do not feel that that lasers can prevent or fully eliminate stretch marks, but rather only make them marginally less obvious. Surgeries like tummy tucks are really the only way to get rid of stretch marks.
