The Two-Product Derm Line That’s Switching Up Traditional Skin Care featured image

Miami dermatologist Dr. Deborah Longwill has been practicing for more than two-and-a-half decades and, during that time, she has seen, tried and heard about every skin-care product out there—as has her daughter, Danielle.

“I had a peel I was experimenting with, and I was toying around with a serum and using it on myself. People started to comment that my skin was looking amazing,” she recalls, adding that, around that same time, Danielle joined her at her practice and was looking to tackle a new project. “The goal was to create a line that was easy, effective, worked for all ages, and good for the skin, period.  I kept circling back to these two specific formulas.”

The result: Doctor’s Daughter Skincare line, which consists of a concentrated, day-and-night Stem Cell Serum and an exfoliating Papaya Enzyme Peel that prides itself on not “overcomplicating” things. 

“I don’t have much time in my daily routine to use 15 different products on my face—and I know other people don’t either,” Dr. Longwill says. “The goal was to keep it simple, simple, simple for both Danielle’s friends and for people my age. We came up with this super ingredient line using an extremely light resveratrol for the serum and the papain enzyme for the Papaya Peel. We worked with the pharmacy chemist and we decided that this is something that we wanted to do.”

“With my practice I hear a lot, ‘Doctor, another product? I have all these products on my counter in my bathroom! I have a basket! I keep buying, I just never use them. I use them once and it just sits there.’ If someone is going to use something, I think if you simplify it and focus on only one product, plus your sunblock, that’s all you need and it helps you be consistent with it—which is so important. The serum is something you’re using twice a day and it can also be used underneath your eyes, your lips, your whole face. You don’t have to use one product for one part of your face, and then move along to another product for another part of your face.”

Dr. Longwill also credits some creativity (and the fact that the products can be used in conjunction with pretty much anything else) to the success. “With creativity, artistic and natural social media talents, Danielle brought our product to life. I am so excited and proud of all Danielle’s determination and hard work. Plus, the line is so easy to combine— it’s essential to your skincare routine; it’s the products that the consumer can use with other products they like, but our serum sets the groundwork.
