Specializing in the art of plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Larry H. Pollack and his staff at Del Mar Plastic Surgery combine state-of-the-art technology with customized care to ensure that each patient’s experience is as safe and positive as possible. “We take a personal interest in every one of our patients. We listen carefully to their concerns, try hard to meet their goals and stay with them throughout the entire surgery process.” He devotes part of his practice to reconstructive surgery, notably breast reconstruction following mastectomy. “It’s such a privilege to be able to change a person’s life; seeing their reaction after surgery is very rewarding, and that’s why I love what I do.”

What are your most requested procedures?

This tends to be a seasonal thing,
with breast augmentation and
Mommy Makeovers in the spring
and summer, and facial surgery
in the fall
What are you best known for?

I am probably best known for breast
and body work. I do a significant
amount of breast reconstruction
for cancer patients, as well as other
breast surgeries, tummy tucks and
Mommy Makeovers
What new services are you excited to offer?

We currently offer CoolSculpting,
which is producing amazing results
and patient satisfaction. We also
recently acquired HydraFacial MD®,
a fantastic skin-care treatment that
heals and regenerates aging and
damaged skin. We also use the gold
standard Fraxel® for more aggressive
and complete laser skin rejuvenation
What surgical advancements are you most excited about right now?

Fat transfer, used in a variety of
different procedures, is an exciting
new technique. Also, the quality
of breast implants continues
to improve
What surgical trends are you seeing at your practice?

There does seem to be a trend
toward smaller breasts and more
natural lip augmentation rather
than the overdone “Hollywood” look
Why do you employ a less-is-more philosophy?

My philosophy is based on restoration
more than enhancement. Whether a
facelift or breast surgery, my goal is to
restore what was lost, enhance only for
proper proportionality and above all, to
achieve natural beauty and symmetry
What else are you passionate about?

I am involved as a writer/producer in
the development of a television series.
It is appropriately called Manopause.
