Gerry is set to become ABC’s first-ever “Golden Bachelor” when he embarks on a quest for love on national television this fall.
“The Golden Bachelor” is a new spinoff of “The Bachelor” franchise that has ran for 60 seasons since its debut in 2002. This new series promises to celebrate the golden years of life—proving that it’s never too late to find a soulmate.
According to the network, the upcoming season will introduce a “hopeless romantic given a second chance at love.” It’s a fresh twist on the long-running dating show franchise, which has centered around 20- and 30-something casts.
Described as a “charming 71-year-old patriarch,” Turner is ready to prove that love stories only get better with age. A retired restaurateur, he resides in Indiana, where he enjoys hosting barbecues, playing pickleball, and cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams.
According to his Bachelor bio, after marrying his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1974, Turner experienced a full and happy life with their two daughters and granddaughters. Tragically, after 43 years of marriage, his wife fell ill and passed away in 2017. Now, six years later, Turner is ready to open his heart and find love again.
