Her name is on the tip of everyone’s tongues these days due to her recent transformation and the 95th annual Academy Awards night was not different for Mindy Kaling. Arriving in a white hot Vera Wang gown, the actress and producer wowed with long statement lashes and a burgundy-brown lip that played beautifully off the starkness of her dress. Celebrity hairstylist Marc Mena finished off the look with a half-up, half-down long, sleek mane that he smoothed with an Aryuvedic-based hair oil.

Mena says he applied Fable & Mane’s MahaMane Smooth and Shine Hair Oil ($38) before blow drying the hair and creating a defined center part, which he calls “the perfect foundation for relaxed, smooth waves.” He followed by creating a wave using a flat iron and pulling up half of Kaling’s hair into a ponytail with a bungee.
“Next, I took small sections of the ponytail and twisted them as I pinned them into a bun shape section by section creating a textured look to elevate the half-up style. I finished by giving the hair a spritz of hairspray and applied a few more drops of the Maha through the ends of the hair to give a soft finishing sheen.” From shiny locks to her bold makeup, we give Kaling’s Oscar night glam a 10 out 10.
