Whether you know Decker for her best-selling cookbooks, her catchy country tunes or her sassy clothing items à la her brand, Kittenish, it’s hard not to love the 36-year-old entrepreneur.
While we’ve been all ears for anything Decker has had to say about food, fashion and music for years, her recent Instagram post has added yet another subject to her growing list of expertise: self confidence and body image. Accompanying a series of gorgeous bikini shots, Decker posted a beautifully written reminder for new mothers and women everywhere about body image today.

Decker’s fashion label, Kittenish, is known for its feminine flare whether its through baby tees or bikinis, and the founder’s recent Instagram post showed off some of the line’s swimwear creations, but the main focus on the post was something more serious. “I’ll be honest I really didn’t wanna post any of these kittenish swim photos because I weigh 30 pounds more right now than I did last year this time,” Decker wrote in the caption. “Yes I know I just had a baby three months ago but it’s easy to compare on here and wonder why my body likes to hold on to it more than others. The pressure we put on our self is not realistic.”
Continuing on, Decker wrote to followers, “This is a reminder to myself and to you. Be kind to yourself. Give yourself grace. We are healing after growing a human being for nine months. And if you’re breast-feeding like me and your body needs to hold on to as much weight as possible to keep making milk, then let it. Focus on that sweet new baby because that’s what it’s all about. Plenty of time to ‘get back’ when it’s time. But for now. Give yourself grace… you’re doing great and you got this girl!”
