Dr. Sam Speron

Plastic Surgeon
7157 West Howard St., Niles, IL, 60714
My motto is: It’s all about the patient.

Chicago Native Dr. Sam Speron has been beautifying patients for more than 22 years, and he’s honed his skills for performing life-changing surgeries in the least invasive ways. “I started doing a ton of minimally invasive short scar procedures for the breasts and body, and within the last five years my practice has exploded with quick short scar facelifts, mini-facelifts, eye, and necklifts done only under local anesthesia. Dr. Speron takes pride in making what seems like intimidating facial surgeries as easy as possible for his patients, while still achieving the natural results they desire. “They are happy because they are able to have a simple procedure, done under local anesthesia with a quick recovery and get the most natural-looking results—and that is something I’ve really been able to hone in on and deliver.”

About My Practice

What are your most request procedures?

The short-scar facelift, upper and lower eyelid surgery, mid-facelifts or cheek lifts, and necklifts. After facial surgeries I would say Mommy Makeovers are the most popular.

A Minute With

  1. What about your practice makes you the proudest?

I am proudest of the environment that we create here. My staff and I are very down to Earth. I think a lot of people get intimidated going to medical offices, let alone plastic surgery offices, and we try to keep our egos in check. We really try to make it about the patient, not us.

  2. Was there a career-defining procedure that has influenced you?

I trained at a very reputable well-established post-surgery fellowship, but the one thing I noticed is that nobody was doing minimally invasive procedures. Everything was the full scar— for breast reductions and facelifts—and of course I would read anything I could get my hands on. I kept looking at Europe and Dr. Lassus doing all these short scar breast lifts and reductions and it really got me down this path of doing the least invasive thing I can do for people.

  3. How do you manage patient expectations?

By repeating everything repeatedly in person and writing. We want to have consistent messaging and branding, but also, we believe in repetition. They say patients remember half of what you tell them, so if I've sat there for an hour in a consultation about x, y, and z, it doesn't mean they're going to remember. It’s my responsibility at the preoperative visit and the day of surgery to repeat until they get it.

  4. What is your dream innovation?

A way to do surgery without creating any scar.

  5. What surgical advancement are you most excited about?

Technology, because while we still call people the day before a procedure or appointment, getting text message and email reminders, being able to receive pathology reports and lab results electronically, all of these are a great way to keep in touch with patients and improve the patient experience. Our in-office forms are done through Advanced MD, so patients can do it all on their iPhone, Android or desktop to save time. It’s just part of making the experience easier for people.
