Does This Curling Iron Really Do Its Job in Half the Time?
By Elise Minton Tabin , Executive Beauty Editor |
With all the different curling irons on the market, it can be a downright difficult task to find ‘the one’ for you. There are the classic barrels, those that have no clamp, mini versions of what you used years ago and double and triple barrel irons, too. And, each iron that you can buy claims to offer a totally different benefit.
We were intrigued when we heard about the new Bio Ionic Eternity Wand ($120) and had to try it for ourselves. Over the years we’ve tested out hundreds of different hair tools—and basically every innovative one that you’ve ever heard of. But an iron that actually hydrates your hair and makes it healthy—and in half the time of what it normally takes with more traditional curling irons—that was enough to make us put this one to the test.

After we heated up the iron, which took no more than 10 seconds max, we started curling pieces of our hair around the clipless ceramic barrel, which is designed with natural volcanic rock minerals that’s said to infuse the hair with microhydration. And, the barrels also has BioCeramin heaters in it so that there’s a constant flow of heat.
In less than 10 minutes our hair was fully curled, which is about half the time it normally takes us. Although our curls didn’t really look any different from when we use our regular curling iron and wand, the ends of our hair did feel softer than normal and not as fried or crunchy. Just like the brand promises that the wand creates curls and waves that last an eternity, ours didn’t last exactly quite that long but they did stay pretty much in place for the next three days (until it was time to wash our hair).
All in all, a win win in our hair book!
