About Me

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

By listening to patients’ individual goals, I have been able to customize procedures to fit their needs. One example of this is my method for tailoring the facelift to each patient. I was asked to write a chapter on my method for two textbooks, and many physicians have since adopted my technique. I am also honored to be published in Forbes as a “leading plastic surgeon in the United States.”"

How many years have you been in practice?

Twenty-two.

What inspired you to establish a pro bono foundation?

I've always been taught to be grateful, gracious and appreciative for all that i have been given. I began our foundation to help underprivileged children around the world, specifically on the Roatan islands. It is a long-term goal of mine to spread good health and education to those who are unfortunate and yet deserving.

FAQs

  1. How can I anticipate breast augmentation results?
    What our experts say:

To show patients how results can look, I offer visual imaging simulation, enabling patients to preview their results on a computer screen. I also show patients plenty of before-and- after photos, and display a variety of photos and valuable information on my web site, to help patients anticipate what to expect so there are never any surprises.

  2. How does the deep plane facelift differ from what's considered a traditional facelift?
    What our experts say:

Traditional face lifts are solely skin tightening and rely on the skin to be the supportive structure. The result is an over-tightened look to compensate for the skin’s inability to support in the long-term. Over time this technique left lateral sweeping lines because skin just isn’t durable enough to support itself and the underlying superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) or soft tissue. Soft tissue elevation through deep layer lifting is the key to rebalancing the aging face. With the deep plane face lift, we are able to pull back the skin and lift the SMAS independently from the skin. This also allows us to better customize face lifts, because some patients just need skin tightening and others just need soft tissue elevation.

With facial rejuvenation, it’s about balance. We show facial aging in four ways:

    1. Skin quality/texture
    2. Volume
    3. Skin looseness
    4. Soft tissue decent

You have to treat all of these. If you leave one out, it gives away your age. The deep plane face lift tackles two of the four. I usually refer my patients for a skin resurfacing to repair quality, and I fat graft to the face for volume when necessary.

  3. How soon after a body lift can I return to exercising?
    What our experts say:

Everyone heals at a slightly different pace, but patients are generally able to begin exercising 6 weeks after a body lift procedure.
