She came to tonight’s Critics’ Choice Awards representing two separate movie nominations—Midsommar and Little Women (including a not-so-shabby Best Supporting Actress nom for the latter)—but silvery-sequined, Prada-wearing Florence Pugh didn’t let the numerous accolades go to her head when it came to her hair-care products.

According to celeb hairstylist Peter Lux, Pugh’s side-swept swirls have none other than Dove to thank for helping them stay put.

“I always find creating a look with Florence to be very inspiring,” Lux says. “Today, I chose to go with a clear mind and not a pre-established idea. We decided the hair should be up to show off the beautiful details of the dress. I like to keep my hairstyles modern, and therefore like to work with wetter textures. I had seen a similar swept over look at a fashion show in Paris years ago and it came back to me today and just felt right. I played with a few variations in the mirror and landed on what we felt was most flattering for Florence’s face.”

The first step, Lux says: Spraying Dove Style + Care Smooth & Shine Heat Protection Spray ($4.88) all-over. Then, once the hair dried, he applied Dove Style + Care Volume & Fullness Mousse ($4.88) to the roots to add “grit and lift.”

There’s some brushing and dividing of sections, sweeping motions and bobby pins involved in the steps that followed (we’ll leave anything that involves updo moves to the pros) but for that final lock-in step, Lux sprayed Dove Style + Care Micro Mist Extra Hold Hairspray ($4.89), a product he says helped “tame the flyaways at the nape of the neck and provided a final touch of shine.”
