Bangs are a good way to cover up forehead wrinkles and you can add them to your style in mere minutes. Hairstylist Chris Megia of the John Frieda Salon in Los Angeles says blunt bangs (or fringe) are an easy way to change up long hair without compromising length.

The trend du jour is to veer on the heavy side, but side-swept bangs remain a perennial classic, like country singer Carrie Underwood’s look.

“A heavy fringe, which looks best on straight hair or hair with a wave to it, gives a sexy look.” And, a heavy fringe can work for all women, regardless of age.

“More mature woman can wear them styling the bangs pushed over to the side. That way you get the modernism of the fringe but with a softness that is more suitable.”
