Throughout the year, we’ve watched these talented women fully embody their characters. Now, on the occasion of the 2022 Emmy Awards, the stars get to show off their own style dressed as themselves. The nominee list for this year’s Emmys was stacked with women over 50, and so was the red carpet. From “no-makeup makeup” to smokey eyes, these women’s looks deserve a moment of appreciation.

Sheryl Lee Ralph

Sheryl Lee Ralph received the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy, but her look was certainly that of a leading lady. Not only was this Ralph’s first Emmy nomination the dress she’s sporting is also Brandon Blackwood’s first ever gown. She dialed up the drama with a braid that dropped below her waist, studded with bling.

Jean Smart

Jean Smart won her second Emmy in a row for Hacks, and she showed up looking like a winner. She served up timeless glamorous with a white off-the-shoulder Christian Siriano dress, perfectly coiffed hair and just the right balance of makeup and natural beauty.

Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh, nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series, was a show stopper at the Emmys. She wore a purple Rodarte outfit, the jacket and pants of which were speckled with sequins. The look evokes Studio 54, complete with voluminous hair and low-hanging earrings.

Jennifer Coolidge

One of the most exciting moments of the night was when Jennifer Coolidge won her first Emmy. For her big night, she wore an emerald dress with soft waves she achieved with Better Not Younger products.

Effortless beauty Connie Britton showed up with a gorgeous “no-makeup makeup” look and an updo, letting her hot pink dress do all the talking. Britton’s makeup artist almost exclusively used Beautycounter products to achieve the look.

J Smith-Cameron

With 25 Emmy Award nominations, Succession is leading the pack tonight. One of those nominations is for J Smith Cameron in the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series category. A lady in red, she wore heavy eyeliner and a bright lip. Her accessory of choice? A clutch that says “Bans Off Our Bodies.”

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara paired a sultry makeup look, compliments of Dior Beauty, with a bright, sunny dress. Her makeup featured a Rogue Dior Forever: Forever Wild ($42) and a smokey eye to match. Vergara’s yellow dress dotted with bling is Laura Basci.

Geena Davis

The iconic actress accepted the Governor’s Award at the 2022 Emmys for her non-profit Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. Her hair and makeup were timeless and worked well with her sleeveless yellow dress.

Angela Bassett

Shoulder-length waves, a smokey eye and sculpted cheeks flatter Angela Bassett on the red carpet. The yellow sequin and satin gown looks like it was custom-made for her as it perfectly accentuates her figure.

The Marvelous Ms. Maisel star Alex Borstein was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series. She’s bringing in the fall chill in the best way possible with her look. Borstein wears a perfectly plum dress paired with bold eye makeup, a mauve lip and a low updo.

Patricia Arquette

A textured updo, a nude lip and eye makeup that flatters her baby blues are the standout pieces of Patricia Arquette’s look. She’s up for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work in Severance. Alongside Smith-Cameron, Arquette was also toting a “Bans off Our Bodies” clutch.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox gave a nod to Madonna’s iconic cone bra with the Jean Paul Gaultier dress she wore on the red carpet. A sleek high ponytail and striking eye makeup complete the look.

Rhea Seehorn

Emmy Award nominee Rhea Seehorn wore a warm-colored gown with a perfectly placed cut-out. She paired it with her shoulder-length hair slicked back featuring chic wave. Her skin was prepped with an array of Kat Burki products. The subtle smokey eye paired well with the dress, and the nude lip was turned up just enough.
