We may not agree with many of her personal decisions, but let’s face it, Rihanna is a beautiful woman. A beautiful woman that knows beauty, that is. So it’s only natural that the Barbadian songstress would team up with mega makeup giant MAC on four collections rolling out later this year.

For Rihanna, the move to collaborate just made sense. “Being creative is something that I love, so I can put that into different outlets,” says Rihanna in a recent interview. “Music happens to be the first thing that I gravitated to, and now music opens doors to just so many different opportunities, and they all tie in. My makeup looks, my fashion looks…they help me to express myself as an artist. I think it helps people to understand me or my mood, my story.”

What’s special about this collection is that this is the first time that MAC has collaborated with a celebrity on a long-term basis. Or as Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. (MAC’s parent company) group president John Demsey says, “We always say that MAC likes to go on a date but doesn’t really want to go into a relationship, [but] this relationship with Rihanna is a long-term one that involves the development of four distinct color initiatives.”

But don’t think that Rihanna just put her name on it without any input—she worked on every aspect of the collection from the actual makeup to the packaging. “I really got to play,” says Rihanna. “There’s so much to choose from, and you can mix different textures with different colors and different greens in different eye shadows. I learned so much about the detail of makeup and what makes things look different. Every little detail is important.”

The “RiRi Hearts MAC” signature product is a lipstick based off of the famous red Ruby Woo color that will be called RiRi Woo. The best part: Rihanna designed it to be suitable for every skin tone. “I had so many different samples to choose from and so many different colors underneath—blue, yellow, orange and pink bases. And I got to pick one that worked, and I tried it on all my friends to make sure it worked on all of our skin tones.”

RiRi Woo is set to be sold at her summer concerts, online and will also include each of the collections. The summer collection is set to also include a new shade of Luster Drops, a powder blush duo and two more lipsticks.

The fall collection will have 16 products including four lipsticks, a Lipglass version of RiRi Woo, two multi-shade eyeshadow palettes and false lashes. Fun fact: Rihanna likes to wear two false lashes at the same time.

The holiday collection will add 10 more items like nail polish, a makeup bag and even more lipsticks. Both the fall and holiday collections will be sold in MAC stores.

We have to admit that we’re pretty excited to see all the products that come out of this collaboration. Are you?
