Glasses make people look more trustworthy and intelligent, studies have found, but new research suggests that glasses without rims further enhance these perceived personality traits. Dr. Helmut Leder, an expert in facial aesthetics research from the University of Vienna, studied the difference between framed and rimless eyewear.
The eyes are an important feature that people use to judge first impressions. And when it comes to beauty, harmonious, indistinctive features are thought to be better looking. Leder’s research found that rimless glasses combine the best of both by drawing attention to the eyes in a subtle way, highlighting less-distinctive features while still conveying the trustworthiness, intelligence and reliability of people who wear glasses.
What do you think? Do you wear rimless glasses, or are you ready to give them a try?
