You would think that a perfume housed in a diamond- and sapphire-covered bottle would smell like money, right? Well, it doesn’t. DKNY’s Golden Delicious perfume actually smells like white rose, Casablanca lily, sandalwood, and orange flower water (which is probably better than the scent of cash). However, the luxurious scent does get to live inside the world’s first million-dollar perfume bottle.
Designed by celebrity jeweler Martin Katz, the DKNY Golden Delicious Million Dollar Fragrance Bottle is made from 14-karat yellow and white gold, and is adorned with 2,700 white diamonds (weighing in at more than 15 carats), 183 yellow sapphires, and other precious jewels-strewn out as the iconic Manhattan sky line across the apple-shaped bottle.
Supermodel Chanel Iman unveiled the fancy bottled fragrance Monday in Manhattan at an event at the brand’s flagship store. Although we haven’t heard news of anyone purchasing it, if you’re interested, you can do so on DKNY’s Facebook page.
Luckily the money is going to a good cause. If, or when the bottle is sold, the million dollars will be donated to Action Against Hunger.
