Demi Moore may have some regrets about the cool half-mil she spent on a surgical makeover a few years ago. The 44-year-old was hoping it would breathe life into her once-flourishing career. Instead, despite looking incredible, she faced Hollywood’s ugly female-specific ageism.
“There aren’t that many good roles for women over 40,” she told British magazine Red.
In 2003, Moore revealed the results of liposuction, a breast lift, injectables and veneers in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, but since then has played just two little-hyped film roles. In stark contrast, her 52-year-old ex-husband Bruce Willis has appeared in 13 films-sans makeover-within the same time span.
“If we are told we are not valuable once we hit 30, it is a problem,” she said about women in film and in general. “We all have more to give.”
