Summer is over and it’s prime season for your skin to be sending a signal that it needs a refresh. Read on for some of our favorite (and incredibly easy-to-follow) tips from spa therapists to get—or keep—that post-summer glow.

Up Your Exfoliation Game
Breanna Paquette, spa manager at Rancho Bernardo Inn, says after the summer season, her guests list hydration and restoration as the two top requests for fixing their post-summer skin. “The best remedy for damaged, dry skin is exfoliation, which removes dead, damaged skin cells and helps brighten and improve skin tone,” she says. “My favorite fix for the face and body is brown sugar. It’s right in your pantry and it’s an excellent, natural way to retain and draw moisture into your skin. Combine it with a little olive oil and you have instant hydration.”

Go for the Glow
“When summer ends, your skin will feel dehydrated from being exposed to the sun,” says Johanna Riert, spa manager at Aquaterra Spa, Surf & Sand Resort. “Try keeping a hydrating rose or cucumber facial mist in handy. It will make you feel refreshed and your skin will sparkle. A body oil mist will help keeping your skin feeling moisturized and will improve the appearance of uneven skin tone.”

Back to Basics
One basic product Riert says everyone should stock up on post-summer: Pure Aloe Vera Gel, straight from the plant. “It should always be available in everyone’s home for sudden skin burns or rashes. It heals the skin and minimizes the pain better than anything else I have used.”
