Congrats to Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z on the birth of their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. And now that the controversy over their baby’s name has run its course, all eyes will be on the bootylicious new mom as she, no doubt, will be working hard to get her famous body back in shape.
New moms across the country face the same dilemmas, even if they’ve dieted, exercised and reached their pre-pregnancy weight: stretch marks caused by gaining baby weight too quickly, varicose veins caused by pressure on veins, loose skin in the midsection and breasts that look deflated.
This is where a “mommy makeover” can come into play. Many plastic surgeons combine procedures aimed at these problems shared by many new moms. The main surgical procedures include a tummy tuck, to permanently improve sagging skin around the stomach that was stretched out, and breast augmentation or a breast lift to replace the volume that was lost due to extreme hormone fluctuations or to lift the breasts back into a more flattering position.
Many doctors will also add other skin-restoring procedures, if needed, such as sclerotherapy to address spider and small varicose veins, laser treatments to smooth away stretch marks and other skin-tightening procedures.
And while we don’t know if Jay-Z and B are going to have more little ones, a mommy makeover is best done about three to six months after delivery and once a mom has decided not to have any more babies.
Have you had any mommy makeover procedures? How did they work for you?
