When you’re one of the world’s most famous and most photographed women, having bad skin is not really an option. In a new interview with Net-a-Porter’s The Edit, popstar turned fashion designer, Victoria Beckham, reveals to what length she’ll go to achieve a flawless complexion.

“I see a dermatologist in LA, called Dr. Harold Lancer, who is incredible. I’ve known him for years—he sorted my skin out,” Beckham says. “I used to have really problematic skin and he said to me, ‘You have to eat salmon every single day.’ I said, ‘Really, every day?’ And he said, ‘Yes; breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.’”
Salmon, which is high in omega-3, has long been considered a beauty-boosting food. The fatty acid provides a host of benefits ranging from jumpstarting collagen production to strengthening skin structure, keeping your hair and scalp hydrated, protecting against diseases and reducing inflammation.
Aside from this very strict dietary requirement, Beckham also follows a number of other skin care tips. “You realize how vital it is to wear sunscreen; to drink lots of water; to cleanse, tone, moisturize; take vitamins; [and] make sure you’re eating the right food,” she reveals.

To maintain her glow, Beckham also swears by facials and a few high-performing anti-aging products. “The best facial I’ve ever had was by Sarah Chapman. I love using her moisturizer, especially on planes, and her Overnight Facial—my skin really drinks it up. I also love Estée Lauder’s new Powerfoil masks and La Mer’s Eye Concentrate and Renewal Oil.”

Skin care is so important to Beckham that she’s even incorporated one item into her signature beauty collection with Estée Lauder. “Underneath my makeup I use Morning Aura Illuminating Crème from my new range.
