The sun has a special place in its heart for Miami, and so many spas have set up treatment menus that offer results-oriented facials for sun-damaged skin, as well as skin that might have just spent too much time in the sun and wants to fight off free radicals before they really wreak havoc. So, we asked director of spa and fitness at The Spa at Thompson Miami Beach, Veronica Nagliatti Wolan (who sees people with this skin concern come in for facials regularly), for some of her to-go ingredients for taking on the task:

Rosehip Oil
If you are more concerned about making sure your skin looks better as soon as you walk out of a facial, Nagliatti Wolan says you can’t go wrong with this deep hydrator. “You see the results with this ingredient right away; it’s rich in essential fatty acids such as linoleic acid (or omega-6) and linolenic acid (or omega-3),” she adds. “The oil is also very efficient in fighting signs of aging, as well as diminishing photo-aging.”

Green Tea
You may already know that this is one powerful antioxidant, and Nagliatti Wolan says it’s also an ingredient that “appears to exert sun damage protection by quenching free radicals and reducing inflammation.”

Vitamin C
“You can’t go wrong with this ingredient, and it is one of my favorite ingredients in skin care,” Nagliatti Wolan says. “It makes your skin look extremely healthy and plump, and it is scientifically proven to have the ability to stimulate collagen production, as it protects your skin from free radicals.” Besides that, vitamin C is known as a go-to ingredient for helping to fade sun spots.
