The latest surgical solution for sagging breasts

By ·

“Flat as a pancake.” It’s a compliment when it’s said about your abs—not so much when it’s your breasts. Unfortunately, pregnancy and massive weight loss can lead to very deflated-looking, sagging breasts; and until recently, the only solutions were breast implants, reductions and lifts.

Looking to expand women’s options, doctors have come up with an innovative procedure called the “spiral flap” technique. In it, fat and tissue are taken from another area of the body (using contouring methods), shaped into a mound, and secured in a sling-like sheet of tissue in the breast. The results look natural and move normally.

This technique is not meant for most people interested in larger breasts—just those who have lost a lot of weight or whose breasts have changed dramatically with age and pregnancy.
