Replacing a broken or missing tooth

By ·

Remember that episode of Sex and the City where Bridget Moynahan’s character, Natasha, breaks a tooth falling down the stairs? Ouch! Just the thought of losing or breaking a tooth is enough to inspire nightmares, but should it actually happen to you, there is a solution.

If you have a missing or broken tooth, single tooth implants are the standard treatment, and a titanium artificial root can be implanted in the place of the missing tooth. The first step is placing the implant, which looks like a screw or cylinder, into the jaw under local anesthesia. Within three to six months, the implant bonds with your bone to form an anchor for the artificial tooth. During this time, a temporary is worn over the implant site.

Once fully healed, a crown will be created and attached to the post. The result is a look you can feel comfortable and confident about.
