Philosophy

Dr. Eric Mariotti is still just as excited about plastic surgery as he was when he entered the field decades ago. “I am blessed to have a job I love.  Treating patients doesn’t ever seem like work to me.  It’s an honor,” says Dr. Mariotti, who takes a special interest in complex breast revision surgeries due to the high level of meticulous surgical skills it commands.  “I’ll take a complicated breast case with the utmost confidence it will turn out great.  It’s the seemingly difficult cases where I find the greatest fulfillment,” says Dr. Mariotti – a veteran plastic surgeon who derives tremendous satisfaction in achieving what otherwise may seem impossible.

About My Practice:

What does your office look like?

I designed my office to reflect my ideals of beauty. Classic marble, hardwood floors and warm, rich tones establish an ambience conducive to five-star service.

What one word best describes your bedside manner?

Approachable. It's just me and the patient in consultation, talking casually to establish feelings of trust. I want each patient to feel like they're my only client of the day.

What are the most common surgical procedures you perform?

Breast procedures are extremely popular. We can enhance, lift, reduce and improve the appearance of the breasts through a variety of surgical procedures, which can be combined with different body contouring surgeries for impressive results. With my tummy tucks, for example, I aim to keep the scars as low as possible and create a cute belly button, which women love.

About Me:

How do you spend your time when not in the office?

With my three sons and beautiful wife. I'm a family man, which comes across in consultation and treatment with my patients.

How do you show patients you care?

I call patients the night of surgery and my assistant follows up the next morning. Surgical patients know we are only a phone call away, and are showered with postoperative TLC. The goal is to validate that they put their trust in the right practice.

What are some of your hobbies?

I’d have to say it is an eclectic group of hobbies. Winter finds me in my “dance with the mountain” telemark skiing in Tahoe, while in spring and summer I enjoy heirloom tomato gardening and beekeeping.

After losing 160 lbs. I had deflated breasts & saggy skin on my stomach, arms, legs, back, hip & butt. Dr. Mariotti has done several procedures on me that have made me feel proud of my body for the first time ever. I consulted with another surgeon before Dr. Mariotti, this other surgeon made me feel ashamed of how my body looked. His exact words after seeing all my excess skin were "that looks gross." I felt humiliated. Dr. Mariotti has never made me feel uncomfortable or that there was anything wrong with any part of me. He has helped me to feel proud of the path I have traveled. I often tell people "the bariatric surgery gave me back my health, Dr. Mariotti gave me the self confidence to let people see the real me, to show my true personality."

I never thought of myself as one who would even consider cosmetic surgery. I feared looking fake or done over. Having breastfed twins in 2009, however, my once DDD breasts had shrunk to a sagging, unattractive B. They were uncomfortable without a bra and formed two puddles in one. I felt self conscious wearing swim suits or workout tops at the gym. Catching a glimpse of my bare chest in the mirror, I would immediately feel old and worn out. A few women I knew had had breast work done and were pleased with the results. I thought it couldn't hurt to talk to a couple of surgeons about my breasts so I searched within a 25 mile radius and read lots of reviews. Other cosmetic surgeons had great bedside appeal and wonderful personalities, but few patient reviewers wrote about the phenomenal surgical results like they did with Dr. Mariotti. Having to wait several weeks for my consultation was the first indication that Dr. Mariotti was as great as his reviews. He and his warm, energetic, and knowledgeable PA, Sarah, listened to my concerns and goals and never tried to sell me on cosmetic surgery. I'd seen one cosmetic surgeon locally who had told me I couldn't improve my breasts without having an augmentation. Dr. M proved that was not the case. Four months ago, I had my breast life surgery (without augmentation). Although the recovery was more painful than I imagined, I would go through the entire process again in a heartbeat. (It's important to note that I have an extremely low pain threshold.) I no longer need to wear a bra and my chest looks great in workout tops and swimwear. Last month, I was self UN-conscious enough to join a gym. In addition to receiving a breast lift, I had a lower eye lid lift to address the perpetual shiners under each eye. The dark circles I'd had since I was a kid are gone. And I mean gone. I had tried every cream, nutritional supplement, and treatment out there to rid my face of these black moons. I was tired of people asking me if I was sick or overtired. Dr. M simply moved some tissue/fat around under my eyes and within two weeks I was getting compliments about how "rested" I looked. Even when I'm actually sick or exhausted, I don't look like someone clocked me in the face. How Dr. M did such an amazing job without leaving any traces of his work remains a mystery to me. He has a very special talent/gift. During the entire process, both Dr. M and Sarah remained sensitive to my past medical history and tailored their care to keep me comfortable. I am so grateful I did this for myself and so grateful to have found such an awesome team. Every time I look into a mirror, I feel beautiful...not beautiful for my age, but beautiful in a way that I never dreamed possible. The self talk has changed from words of ick to phrases like, "Wow, you look really great."

About Me

Body Beautiful

Known for his high standards and all-encompassing perspective, Dr. Mariotti has garnered an extensive patient base one that he established mainly through word-of-mouth buzz. Most of my patients are from referrals either from physicians or former patients, says Dr. Mariotti, whose high referral rate has afforded him both a longstanding and far-reaching reputation. In addition to his cosmetic clientele, Dr. Mariotti also sees a great deal of massive-weight-loss patients who turn to him for help in completing their emotional and physical transformations. I particularly enjoy these cases, as they command a complete understanding of the challenges of the post-bariatric body, says the seasoned plastic surgeon. I have a picture in my office given to me by post-weight loss patients whose lives have been improved through plastic surgery. It serves as a reminder of the compassion and surgical skill necessary in this complex and demanding field.

Beautiful Encounters

Uncovering a patient’s inner confidence is what attracted Dr. Mariotti to the field of plastic surgery. His interest in treating patients who have undergone massive weight loss, particularly, helps him accomplish this goal and is what he calls a “highly rewarding facet of plastic surgery.” “It is one of the most gratifying aspects of what I do,” says Dr. Mariotti. “Plastic surgery often represents the final step in their journey,” says Dr. Mariotti of patients who have lost a significant amount of weight and want to further improve their appearance through plastic surgery. “They come to me with an improved self-esteem. My job is to make sure they look as good as they feel.” Dr. Mariotti believes that his experience in body-contouring procedures for massive-weight-loss patients has made him a better plastic surgeon by increasing his ability to view things three-dimensionally. “These procedures require you to think strategically and really understand the intricacies of skin and body relationships,” he explains.

FAQ's

Q. How can I increase the size of my breasts?

What our experts say:

If you're only looking to increase the actual size of your breasts, then breast enhancement surgery can be a very helpful tool in rejuvenating the appearance of small breasts. Talk to your surgeon about whether you would be better suited for saline or silicone breast implants, as well as the incision site that would best accomplish your desired goals.

Q. Can I correct breasts and body at the same time?

What our experts say:

Yes. Many women want some form of breast surgery, be it an augmentation, lift and/or reduction, along with some form of body contouring. These procedures are referred to as a Mommy Makeover since they address the female figure from a comprehensive vantage point as opposed to viewing each body part as a single entity. The benefits are a single recovery, reduced cost and more extensive rejuvenation.
