There could be swelling, bruising, or hematoma formation if not guided in correctly. We give arnica to patients a week before they come in, so they don’t get bruising. Most injectables come mixed with lidocane, so the patient starts feeling numbness after the first couple of injections; and we do use numbing creams and ointments. The mouth is the most painful area. It hurts, period. The central face is a deep injection, so you don’t really feel it there. It’s all very patient-dependant.
