It can be used in different ways, but most of the time it’s used to recontour the tooth structure. If you look at a smile and some of the teeth, and one to four are not in perfect alignment, we can gently recontour the enamel, and then polish it to get the desired contour, shape and length that we want without having to use Invisalign. So we can add structure with bonding, but we can also take structure away by recontouring. It works very well. It’s using the “art of illusion” in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. Less is best: A little bit of recontouring goes a long way in making a big difference.
