Next Tuesday, be prepared for extra long lines at your local Starbucks. The cult-favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte is making its seasonal debut and loyal fans are itching to get their hands on one (you can actually get an early access code today by clicking here). And don’t forget that you can now get your PSL with almond milk (in select cities) thanks to other recent upgrades made by the coffee chain.

But, this isn’t the “new drink” our mouths are watering for. What we’re psyched to try is a spicy new recipe for Starbucks called Chile Mocha, which also hits stores September 6.

Here’s what’s in it: Cocoa, spice and steamed milk are layered on top of espresso, then topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with a dusting of ancho chili pepper, sea salt, cinnamon, paprika, cayenne chili pepper and sugar. YUM!

“The addition of cinnamon with a drink like this is a good idea,” says celebrity nutritionist Paula Simpson. “Some clinical studies have shown a positive correlation between cinnamon polyphenols and controlled glucose metabolism.”

And, rumor has it that the drink is slightly lighter and less sweet than the brand’s original mocha thanks to the use of cocoa powder versus its traditional flavored syrup.

Michelle Sundquist, Starbucks senior product developer, said this in a press release from the brand:

“When we think about fall, often people think about warmth and spice, like cinnamon and apple pie. We decided to take that idea in a new direction with chocolate and a bit of heat. The team was inspired by other sweet and spicy flavors such as mole, horchata and a thick Mexican drink called champurrado. In addition, they explored a variety of chile peppers along the heat scale and settled on ancho, a heart-shaped pepper with mild heat and a sweet fruity flavor, and a touch of cayenne. We found that the ancho chile and cayenne perfectly complemented chocolate. It has a sweet touch to it, with an approachable amount of heat. The first sip should be warm and chocolatey, quickly followed by the creaminess of the whip and just a kiss of sweet and savory heat all at once.”
