Searching for a solution to your dull and dehydrated post-winter skin woes? Joanna Czech of the Paul Labrecque Salon and Spa in New York City recently shared her secret to getting your glow on and it’s called The Vitamin C Peel Facial ($285 for an hour-long session). “It’s the ideal treatment for anyone to receive right before or during the spring season,” she advises. “The treatment is hydrating, antioxidant-rich (it uses vitamins A, C, and E), and helps with discoloration and uneven skin tone.” Additionally, it strengthens the skin and primes it for the summer when you’ll be exposed to more direct sunlight.

To prep, Czech gently cleanses the face and takes off any makeup residue followed by a 10-15 minute massage around the face and neck area with light oils. Next, she removes impurities with an exfoliating and purifying clay mask. Extractions are performed if needed and then a vitamin C based peel is applied on the skin, and left for 3–5 minutes. The final touch: A soothing algae mask, which helps facilitate the absorption of nutrients and minerals into the pores. “I always finish the treatment with a lightweight cream containing SPF so my clients are ready for the rest of their day, whether it’s spending time outside or indoors,” she says.

While the pampering is on the pricier side, results are immediate. The exfoliation involved with this facial is mild so there was no burning or post-facial redness. Not only did it remove the last bit of post-winter flakiness I was experiencing, but it left my skin feeling and looking dewy.
