While high-heels can elevate any outfit, they can also leave your feet in rare form. We love ’em but can’t say the same about our throbbing feet. We were interested to learn that there might be a solution for our repeat high-heel wearing and had to share.
Fillers, like Sculptra Aesthetic or Radiesse, used off-label can help plump up the balls of your feet, providing cushion that can alleviate pain inflicted from years of wearing high heels and uncomfortable footwear. “When you wear high heels, the pressure that’s applied to the foot shift the fat pad, which can lead to pain and a burning sensation,” says Plymouth Meeting, PA, dermatologist Marlene J. Mash, MD.
But foot discomfort is not just limited to high-heel wearers, she also points out. “Just like with the face, you lose fat and collagen in your feet with the aging process,” she says. While injections won’t change the way your feet physically look, they can protect the nerves and soft tissue and make walking more comfortable.
