Michelle Williams, one of the most naturally gorgeous and talented women in Hollywood, recently told Elle UK that men are unanimously opposed to one facet of her looks-her hair. Try to contain your shock, horror and dismay. It’s her short pixie cut they can’t get behind.

The 31-year-old actress was one of the first to bring back the Farrow-inspired boyish haircut in 2007, which quickly saw quite a following amongst the stars (with Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman, Hayden Panettiere following suit, to name a few).

“Of course, the only people who like [the cut] are gay men and my girlfriends,” Williams says. “Straight men across the board are not into this hair.”

So why does she continue to keep it cropped? “I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it,” she says. Not so subtly referring to her late boyfriend and father to her daughter, Heath Ledger.
