Lately, there’s been buzz on the Internet about a cheap and easy way to eliminate migraines. Originally reported by The Daily Mail, Kentucky resident Jill Hamilton turned to Facebook to share a life-changing tip. Hamilton said applying Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Sooth Vapor Bath cured her migraines. Hamilton wrote that every night in the shower she lathers up really good and breathes in the smell for about five minutes and then rinses it off. Some experts say that tip could work because the product contains menthol, which does have an anti-headache benefit.
But, if you’re looking for something a bit more reliable—that doesn’t require you to constantly be huffing Vapor Bath—we do know that doctors have long used Botox to ease migraines. According to New York dermatologist Hooman Khorasani, MD, “Botox may be used as a prophylactic treatment for headaches in patients with chronic migraines. Standardized trigger points are injected with about 150 units of Botox every 12 weeks. The muscle’s injected include the traditional forehead muscles injected for cosmetic reasons, with the addition of the scalp, temple, neck and upper shoulder musculature injections.”
