Asia is synonymous with makeup that pushes the boundaries. Charlotte Cho of the e-commerce site Soko Glam gives us the scoop.

Thick, Straight Brows
Korean women are huge on brows that are thick and straight without any arch. “Their brows are archless and usually drawn in with a pencil or eyebrow powder. They believe it makes the face look younger this way,” says Cho.

Product We Like: bareMinerals Brow Powder makes it easy to create a gorgeous and natural looking arch, with 4 shades to choose from. $11, bareescentuals.com

Gradient lips
The look of the moment is all about a moisturized looking lip with color—think a gloss, stain and tint all in one. “Women in Seoul don’t like the look of perfectly manicured lips because they feel it makes you look older. The liner and lipstick look has been ditched in favor of gradient lips that look like you just were sucking on a popsicle,” says Cho.

Product We Like: LipSurgence lip gloss from tarte is a glossy version of a lip tinte that gives just the right pop of natural color. $19, tartecosmetics.com

Puppy eyes
Sort of like the cats-eye, the puppy-eye makes use of eyeliner but tapers down, rather than flicking up, to give a more innocent look.

Product We Like:  Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner brings the best of both worlds, with the precision of a liquid liner and the easy application of a gel formula. $24, sephora.com

Superbright Lips
Soko says it’s not necessarily about a perfectly done lip but more about wearing a bright shade of red, pink or orange dabbed in the middle of the lips. The rest of the face is left bare.

Product We Like: Available in multiple shades of red, pink, and orange, M.A.C Cosmetics Sheen Supreme Lipstick has the punch of color of a lipstick with the sheen of a lipglass. $18, maccosmetics.com
