Tarte Is Bringing Back Its Iconic Cheek Stain

Tarte Is Bringing Back Its Iconic Cheek Stain featured image

I remember the first time I tried tarte’s famous Cheek Stain: I was in high school and I used what should have been my gas money to buy it in the shade flush, which was probably not the right color for me (I later discovered Tickled and Exposed, and those were much better suited for my fair skin). It took me forever to use the entire stick, but I did. I didn’t know how to do my makeup well at the time, but I just dabbed on a little bit and rubbed it in with my fingers. I loved the cooling effect of the gel-cream formula, too. It was unlike anything I had ever seen back then.

When I started working as an editor years later, I learned more about tarte’s key ingredients, and the secret behind the blendability and dewy glow of the Cheek Stain, maracuja oil, which is sustainably harvested through an eco-friendly extraction process by an all-female cooperative in the Amazon. Other good-for-your-skin standouts in the antioxidant-rich formula include goji, acai, acerola and pomegranate.

And though it was pulled from the brand’s lineup a few years ago (the team is constantly innovating and experimenting with new formulas), in today’s big news, I’m happy to report that it’s back—for a limited time! Not every shade made the cut, but three of the most beloved hues—Flush, which started it all, Tipsy and Exposed—will be available beginning on March 20 at tarte.com and at Sephora, Sephora at Kohl’s, Ulta and Macy’s for $30 each. And if you can’t wait another week, you can get a duo set on QVC today ($35)—basically two for the price of one—with either Tipsy and Exposed or Flush and Exposed.
