In my search for that perfect product, I came across Estée Lauder Perfectionist with Poly-Collagen Peptides Correcting Serum. As a long time fan of Idealist, I was anxious to try their latest anti-aging product. I purchased the tiny, lavender, one-ounce, signature bottle ($55), and started the suggested regimen. Apply before moisturizer in a.m. and p.m.
Perfectionist is off-white, creamy, and of a medium consistency. The fragrance is the typical Estée Lauder smell: light and floral without being too over-powering. After I went through my usual routine in the morning and evening (but before I applied my moisturizer), I pumped out a small amount of Perfectionist and smoothed it over my “problem” areas. Those areas included the edges of my eyes, my forehead, around my smile lines, and to some extent, my neck.
I used it faithfully, day and night, for the prescribed four weeks to see if there were any changes.
I saw no changes day one but did notice at the end of week one that my skin looked more evened out. The lines appeared to be dulled in a way that reminded me of the effects of illumination-type make-ups. At the end of week four, my skin looked exactly as it had at the end of week 1 results. Maybe my lack of major flaws and/or age spots diminishes the overall perception of improvement that I had for this product. While it does live up to some of its promises, personally, I just find Perfectionist to be too pricey given the benefits.
