“Does my butt look big in these?”
You know you’ve said it. We’ve all said it. You’re trying on jeans, and you just can’t get a third-person perspective, so you have to ask a friend or sales associate (who, by the way, will probably tell you what you want to hear, which isn’t necessarily the truth). Wouldn’t it be nice to see your derriere the way others will?
Tom Simon, the co-owner of Arizona boutique Hub Clothing, saw his shoppers unavailingly twist and turn to get a rear view in the mirrors. To end their frustration and up confidence in their purchase, he created the patent-pending Butt Cam, a perfectly-positioned camera connected to a dressing-room video screen that lets you see what anyone else would when viewing you from behind. “They want to look good to other people, not just themselves,” Simon told the Associated Press. “And even though it seems ridiculous, there’s nothing you wear more than jeans.”
With so many of today’s expensive, high-end jeans pledging body-becoming effects, the Butt Cam is an ingenious way to make sure designer denim is keeping its promises.
