“Our RipSurfer X is designed to mimic the movement of a surfboard on water through instability. Surfset is a core-intense workout that engages all of the tiny stabilizer muscles forcing you to stay balanced on the board,” says Sarah Ponn, fitness director. “The machines are made up of a custom designed surfboard with hand and foot grips for moves like the plank and pushups, on top of an instability system that creates movement similar to a surfboard on water.”
Set to surf-inspired music, the 45-minute class is structured into intervals that include cardio, strength training and surfing simulations. Expect major results in your core. “Surfset trains the tiny stabilizer muscles along with all of the major muscle groups to build a lean body and defined muscles. The cardio built into the workout helps to shed unwanted body fat and build aerobic endurance. The main muscles that Surfset works more than any other workout are the triceps for arm definition and the obliques that give a tight & narrow look to the torso.
