Shampoos, conditioners and styling products that cater to color-treated hair are nothing new. But few are designed to treat hair according to the technique used to color it.
“One-size-fits-all doesn’t apply in creative hair artistry, and it doesn’t suffice in caring for colored, damaged hair, either,” says Reuben Carranza, CEO of P&G Salon Professional North America.
The innovative Sebastian Color Ignite line consists of two types of shampoos and conditioners-single-tone and multi-tone. The brand’s Smart Color Complex, polymers and ingredients that recognize the hair’s condition, reacts to the current state of the hair, replenishing and moisturizing it and sealing the cuticle.
Another impressive approach can be found in New York celebrity colorist Beth Minardi‘s eight-piece Luxury Color Care collection. It was designed for the specific type of color used (i.e., semipermanent, demipermanent and permanent color, shades level seven or darker) to rebalance the alkalinity in hair that can be disrupted.
“Color Ignite and my Luxury Color Care products are similar in that they deliver specific levels of support for various types of color-treated hair,” says Minardi herself.
Just because your hair is color-treated doesn’t mean it can be cared for like another head of color-treated hair. Your unique color and the techniques it took to achieve it call for products formulated with that understanding.
