The Cannes Film Festival doesn’t hit France until Wednesday, but the world is already buzzing over who’s going to be there, what they’ll be wearing and what’s going to be showing on the silver screen. And now we have a new anticipatory item to add to the list: Where will the stars be spa-ing?
Sure to be on the list is the InterContinental Carlton Cannes, a landmark property in the south of France (the iconic film To Catch a Thief was filmed there) that’s a go-to host to the world’s biggest movie stars, filmmakers and industry professionals during the festival. The seventh floor of the hotel features dedicated “Celebrity Suites” named after the top names of the festival, including Clint Eastwood, Sharon Stone and Sean Connery; last May, a Grace Kelly Suite was inaugurated by her son, Prince Albert of Monaco.
The hotel also features the Carlton Beauty and Fitness Center, a luxurious space consisting of three treatment rooms, including one double room, a hair salon, a workout center with ocean-side state-of-the-art facilities, and a selection of premier beauty treatments, with skin-care and beauty lines including Ivo Pitanguy, Kanebo and By Terry. One of the spa’s signature treatments, “A Special Day,” features a facial or body treatment, manicure, makeup session, hair wash and blow-dry and also includes a gourmet lunch either at the Carlton Beach Restaurant or indoors at the Carlton Restaurant-which will soon be offering a “detox” menu that will include everything from vegetable soups to fresh fruit desserts and exotic salads.
