I was surprised to find out about the mere existence of Fekkai Sensitive Scalp Shampoo. With no mention of dandruff on its bottle (dandruff was never my problem), I wondered if I’d finally found the one. (I’m divorced, so it’s safe to say I’ve been mistaken about the one before.) Would this be the end of my icky, mysterious scalp scabs? (Cue the vintage soap-opera organ.)
The soothing formula of lavender and Manuka honey is apparent in the shampoo’s gentle scent. It was clear after one use that my already-healthy hair looked as nice as ever. But what was clear after two uses was remarkable: a significant reduction in the scaliness of my scalp. After four uses, the texture was almost unrecognizable there was almost no scaliness left.
Obviously, I’m going to continue using Sensitive Scalp Shampoo. At $22, it may be more than a drug-store dandruff treatment, but there’s a good reason for that. I also plan on taking its effects to the next level with its cousin, the Sensitive Scalp Exfoliating Tonic, an intensive rinse-out treatment for $30.
